Who We Are
The staff of the Resource Family Training Program at The University of Oklahoma National Resource Center for Youth Services is comprised of masters-degreed child welfare professionals and a support staff. The Program Supervisor is Sherri Finik, sfinik@ou.edu, (918) 660-3700.
What We Do
The Resource Family Training Program conducts a pre-service training program for all new Bridge Resource Parents – foster, kinship and adoptive families – who want to provide home-based care to children in the custody of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. This pre-service program, utilizing the OK PRIDE and BCMT curricula, is a 27-hour, 9-session workshop which is offered throughout the year and in many locations around the state.
In addition to pre-service training, the RFT Program provides Bridge Resource Parents with access to online in-service training, and assists the Children and Family Services Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services with conferences and other technical support.
