Training of Trainers -
Ansell-Casey Life Skills Training (ACLST)

As an Authorized Training Provider for Casey Family Programs, NRCYS offers this course for professionals and volunteers who wish to train others within their own organization to use the complete Casey Life Skills suite of resources:

The Ansell-Casey Life Skills Assessment is a user friendly on-line resource that measures a young person’s skill level and readiness to live independently. Casey Life Skills tools help bridge the gap between assessment, case planning, and practical skill development for each youth.

Course Description

This course will qualify professionals and volunteers to train staff, volunteers or youth to use, administer and interpret all of the Ansell-Casey Life Skills Training and other on-line resources, including the ACLSA scored report, the Learning Plan, the Ready, Set, Fly! Handbook; and other companion resources. Participants will also learn to access their program’s data, plan an effective presentation and become “Certified Trainers.”

You’ll receive

  • The Trainer’s Guide and Participant Manual with training how-to’s, the Learning Plan, Ready, Set, Fly! Handbook.
  • 2.0 CEUs (20 clock hours) from The University of Oklahoma

ACLST Trainer Competencies

  • Understand the basic structure of the Casey Life Skills tools and website.
  • Be able to use the Casey Life Skills tools.
  • Be able to use the Data and Reports function on the website.
  • Understand the importance of coaching others in the use of the Casey Life Skills tools.
  • Know and understand the issues associated with implementing and maintaining the Casey Life Skills system.
  • Be able to demonstrate effective communication skills when teaching sections of the ACLST training curriculum.
  • Be able to use relevant technology to facilitate learning of Casey Life Skills tools.
  • Be able to demonstrate understanding of basic learning principles relevant to facilitating motivation and learning of the Casey Life Skills tools.
