Benafsha Tasmim, MA

Program Development Specialist, NRCYS

With over seven years of experience working in the social justice and development field, Benafsha has developed the desire and ability to deeply impact the lives of at-risk populations to help them reach their goals and full potential. She has dedicated her career to youth development and empowerment through working on programs such as youth workforce development, advocacy and sports for youth development. She began her career as a Psychosocial Trainer in Afghanistan where she taught teachers how to help students cope with the daily stress and trauma caused by insecurity and violence. In an effort to further address the complex needs of youth during conflict, Benafsha began working as the Education Coordinator for Skateistan in Afghanistan. There, she wrote curriculum, conducted workshops, and supervised the team. She has also worked for RTI International in Washington, D.C., where she helped launch a digital platform which puts young people at the center of the conversation about youth workforce development to share with one another and inform policy and programs.

Benafsha holds a master's degree in International Development from SIT Graduate Institute and serves as an advisory board member of Skateistan.

Bridgett Moran, MHR, MSEd, LPC-S, RPT

Program Development Specialist, NRCYS

Bridgett has supported children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in finding solutions using proven treatment models that strengthen the youth, family, and support systems to dramatically improve their long-term success. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist with the state of Oklahoma. Bridgett obtained her bachelor degree from Oklahoma State University, majoring in family relations and child development. Her graduate work in human relations was completed at the University of Oklahoma; and mental health counseling from the University of the Southwest.
