Behavioral disruption is a form of communication. Things we may normally see as “behaviors” or “defiance” may be ways for children to communicate. Knowing how to respond is the key. Participants will learn about de-escalation techniques, the role of consistency and empathy, and sensory issues and resolutions. This interactive training will help direct care staff, foster families, or Child Welfare Workers engaging with individuals in crisis situations who also have developmental disabilities.
