Epigenetics and Childhood Trauma
November 13, 2026
Virtual Course
Trainer: Marie Solberg, MPH, CPH
What if trauma leaves a biological imprint that extends beyond behavior? Join us for this engaging, evidence-based session as we explore how childhood adversity may influence gene expression, shaping emotional, behavioral, and health outcomes throughout life. Participants will explore how abuse, neglect, and traumatic stress shape child development and long-term well-being. We'll also examine the emerging science of resilience and recovery, and why supportive relationships, early intervention, and healing environments remain powerful influences in a child's journey toward well-being.
Key Takeaways
- Understand how abuse, neglect, and traumatic stress may influence gene expression, development, and long-term well-being.
- Learn how the Pediatric Emotional Distress Scale (PEDS) and Trauma and Distress Scale (TADS) can help identify and monitor trauma-related distress in children and youth.
- Explore evidence-based insights on resilience, supportive relationships, and trauma-informed interventions that promote healing and recovery.
