To support families in meeting their required 12 hours of ongoing training, RFT provides monthly in-service opportunities. These sessions go beyond initial training by offering deeper learning experiences on a variety of relevant topics.

Join this interactive Online In-Service training created to support foster and kinship families in confidently navigating IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and 504 Plans.

During this session, you will learn the key differences between IEPs and 504 Plans, understand your rights and role as a caregiver within the school system, and explore effective ways to communicate and collaborate with teachers and school staff. You’ll also gain practical strategies for preparing for meetings, advocating for your child, and supporting their academic success and overall well-being.

This training, led by Liberty Daniels with OKDHS, will include real-life examples, valuable resources, and step-by-step guidance to help you feel informed, prepared, and empowered.
