NRCYS

Online Support Group

Support Network Groups are designed to assist resource parents with in-service training, community resource information, peer support, and communication with DHS. Attending on a regular basis is not only a great way to get the emotional and practical support you need to succeed, it's a great way to stay on top of the training requirements you need to fulfill.

Online Support Group Meeting: Child Development: Getting Them on the Right Track

August 27, 2026

Virtual Event

Facilitators: Darrell Edwards and Jarrod Moore, NRCYS Trainers

Caring for children in foster care often means supporting development that has been impacted by trauma, instability, or unmet needs. We welcome you to join our Support Group session on Child Development: Getting Them on the Right Track, where foster parents and caregivers can explore how children develop, understand why delays or challenges may occur, and learn practical ways to support healthy growth at every stage. This trauma informed, supportive session offers proven strategies, encouragement, and guidance to help children build skills, confidence, and positive behaviors while strengthening your role as a consistent, nurturing caregiver. Connect with others, gain insight from trained professionals, and leave feeling more confident in helping the children in your care move toward a strong, healthy future.

Parents who attend the entire Zoom call will earn 1.5 hours of in-service training credit toward your annual 12-hour requirement. Come connect and learn with other kinship, foster, and adoptive families.
