Developmental Disabilities Services/Effective Teaching & Learning
HELPING PROVIDER AGENCIES, CARING FOR THOSE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES, MEET THEIR PRE-SERVICE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES.
The University of Oklahoma National Resource Center for Youth Services, working with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services Developmental Disabilities Services division, provides logistical and technical support for the Effective Teaching and Learning (ETL) training program statewide to help Oklahoma provider agencies meet pre-service training requirements for their Habilitation Training Specialist employees.
DDS/ETL Services
NRCYS provides the following services:
- Coordination, scheduling, event logistics, and registration for ETL courses
- Other support services as requested
Courses are scheduled on a quarterly basis and are listed in the Oklahoma DDS Training Schedule. The training courses may be scheduled off-site and/or at provider request based on approval and availability of funds. Participants who successfully complete training will receive a Certificate of Completion and Continuing Education Units (CEUs) through the University of Oklahoma, College of Continuing Education. Training done through this program does not carry academic credit.
