QTRP Technical Assistance Calls

Thursdays, May 13–June 10, 2021

Virtual Course

Please register and make plans to join your peers in this series of facilitated conversations regarding the Trauma-informed components of your contracts. Gwen Downing, along with TICP staff, will assist in providing consultation during the calls in order to create dialog among providers regarding concerns and issues, share solutions, and explore resources that will support new contract and QRTP requirements. Calls will begin on May 13, 2021 and will continue every Thursday through June 10, 2021.

Each meeting will focus on one of the components from the contract:

  • May 13, 2021, 9:00am–10:30am
Safety of Staff and Youth — Contractors create an environment that is physically and emotionally safe where basic needs are met, protective safety measures are in place, and responses to children, youth and families are consistent, predictable, and respectful at all times.
  • May 20, 2021, 1:30pm–3:00pm
Trustworthiness and Transparency — Contractors are transparent in organizational operations and decisions are build and maintain trust among staff, children, youth, and family members of those receiving services.
  • May 27, 2021, 9:00am–10:30am
Collaboration and Mutuality — Contractor ensures there is true partnering and leveling of power differences between staff and youth and among organizational staff from direct care staff to administrators. Contractor recognizes that healing happens in relationships and in the meaningful sharing of power and decision-making.
  • June 3, 2021, 1:30pm-3:00pm
Empowerment, Voice and Choice — Contractor helps youth regain a sense of control over their daily lives and build competencies that will strengthen their sense of autonomy, keep them well informed about all aspects of the system, outline clear expectations, provide them with opportunities to make daily decisions and participate in the creation of personal goals, and maintain awareness and respect for basic human rights and freedoms. Throughout the organization and among the youth and families served, individuals' strengths are recognized, developed, built on, and incorporated into treatment. New skills are developed as indicated. Contractor must strengthen the staff's, youths' and family members' experience of voice and choice and recognize that every person's experience is unique and requires an individualized approach.
  • June 10, 2021, 9:00am–10:30am
Cultural, Historical, and Gender Issues — Contractor and staff must respect diversity within the program and provide opportunities for children to participate in cultural rituals and ensure that all interventions are respectful of and responsive to cultural backgrounds.

When you register, you will be registered for all TA calls. You are not required to attend or participate. Individuals not able to attend will have access to recordings of each meeting.

Additional note: We will be using a interactive tool called Linoit. Linoit is a virtual board that participants can interact by adding their own post, images, links, resources much more. Please take the time to explore and get an understanding of Linoit prior to our first meeting on May 13th
