Support Groups for Region 2
Support Network Groups are designed to assist resource parents with in-service training, community resource information, peer support, and communication with DHS. Attending on a regular basis is not only a great way to get the emotional and practical support you need to succeed, it's a great way to stay on top of the training requirements you need to fulfill. Some groups serve dinner or snacks; all provide child care with your RSVP. Please contact the facilitator to find out about the topic or confirm your attendance.

Defusing Holiday Landmines with Kids from Hard Places
Speaker: Bill Harris, Therapist at Marie Detty Family Services
The holidays can be tough for children from hard places, often stirring up big feelings and hidden triggers. This training will give foster parents practical tools to recognize and defuse "holiday landmines," manage stress, and create safe, meaningful traditions that build connection and calm during the season.
This Network Support Group is designed to provide information and opportunities for networking with other resource families and resources, both locally and statewide. All resource families are welcome to attend: Kinship, Foster, Adoptive, and Enhanced Foster Care Families.
Parents in attendance will earn 2 hours of in-service training credit toward your annual 12-hour requirement. Come connect and learn with other kinship, foster, and adoptive families in surrounding counties.
Lunch and childcare provided.
