Gwen is a Senior Training Coordinator at the National Resource Center and oversees the fee-based training program. She has almost twenty years of experience in trauma responsive practice and is passionate about creating a world that prevents as many sources of trauma as possible, and that is equipped to respond to what is not preventable as effectively as possible. She does systems work, program and project development, resource development, and provides training and consultation.
Gwen has a B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Psychological Services from East Central University of Oklahoma.
Nic Klinedinst, BS
Program Development Specialist, NRCYS
Nic collaborates with the Trauma Informed Care team to support direct care staff and facilities with training, curriculum development and technical supports. He has extensive experience supporting youth and adults who benefit from specialized support services. Nic has over 20 years of experience working in the development disabilities services field.
Nic has a bachelors' degree in psychology from Colorado State University with a focus on cognitive neuroscience.
This is an intermediate level workshop, which builds from the "Trauma Responsive Practice for Children and Youth with Developmental Delays or/and Disabilities" training. Participants should have either completed that training or similar.
This workshop will focus on increasing knowledge and skills around three topics: cultural considerations; utilizing the "ADE" to pay attention, don't assume, explore possible sources, and explore possible approaches; and advocacy from all levels.
