This training will explore crisis management prevention and intervention by introducing effective behavior support. Participants will learn key concepts which include:

  • Discovering roadblocks to appropriate prevention and intervention.
  • Identifying practical skills on how realistic expectations for youth are set.
  • Learning to be therapeutic with a young person during a crisis.

Using engaging activities, participants will learn to identify periods of escalation in others and use self-evaluative techniques to manage personal emotions, body language and verbal cues as deescalating means which can lead back to relational reconnections.

Breakfast and lunch will not be provided.
