Marie Solberg, MPH

Epidemiologist, Oklahoma Department of Health

Marie Therese Solberg, MPH, is renowned for her work in infectious disease surveillance and outbreak response. A Minnesota native, Solberg pursued her passion for science and health by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Oral Roberts University. She went on to obtain a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology from the University of Oklahoma's Hudson College of Public Health, where she honed her expertise in disease data analysis, epidemiologic methods, and public health practice. Marie contributed to epidemiologic research and literature. She has co-authored peer-reviewed studies that address public health challenges in Oklahoma and beyond. Notably, Ms. Solberg was a co-investigator on a 2022 study examining factors influencing medication adherence in patients at higher risk for Hepatitis C infection. This study, published in the journal Medicine, identified how issues such as depression, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and food insecurity were associated with lower adherence to HCV treatment, providing insights to improve patient outcomes
