This hands-on training explores the connection between hair, identity, and emotional well-being. Participants will learn how trauma can impact hair health, including hair loss, and how societal beauty standards shape self-perception. This training highlights the psychological significance of hair and equips providers with the awareness needed to support youth with empathy and understanding.

Participants will:

  • Recognize the Role of Hair in Identity Formation: Understand how hair serves as a powerful expression of identity and self-worth.
  • Explore the Impact of Trauma on Hair and Self-Image: Learn how trauma, neglect, and instability can contribute to hair loss and affect how youth perceive and relate to their hair.
  • Identify the Right Products and Tools for Haircare: Gain practical knowledge on selecting appropriate haircare products and tools
