Because the Department of Human Services Division of Child Welfare is committed to the emotional, behavioral, and physical health needs of the youth that it serves, a Clinical Team to address the emotional, behavioral, and physical health needs of youth in child welfare has been created. The team consists of licensed therapists, nurses, and a psychologist and a psychiatrist, to support the youth, families, and child welfare staff across the state.

Youth in child welfare often have unique needs due to their history of traumatic experiences, lack of continuity of care, and effects of displacement and disruption in care. This webinar aims to educate participants on the unique health needs of youth in child welfare. Also, the webinar plans to explore ways the clinical team engages youth, families, child welfare staff, along with effective community partnerships to promote the overall health of youth in child welfare.
