Youth who have experienced human trafficking often carry profound and complex losses, many of which are unrecognized or invalidated by the systems surrounding them. This training helps participants identify and understand the unique forms of grief experienced by trafficked youth, including disenfranchised, ambiguous, and traumatic grief.

Key Takeaways:

  • Identify the types of grief trafficked youth may experience, especially those that lack closure or social acknowledgment.
  • Understand how grief can show up through behaviors such as resistance, defiance, or emotional withdrawal.
  • Explore ways to build supportive, growth fostering relationships which can result in building trust and a pathway toward healing.
