OKSA Housing Pathways
THE HOUSING PATHWAYS exist to meet the unique needs of young adults leaving care. The pathways listed below represent the possible housing options available to young adults exiting care on or after their 18th birthday. Each pathway represented has its own set of guidelines or criteria for entry and require an OKSA Housing Assessment to be completed to determine eligibility. Multiple pathways on the continuum may need to be taken for a young person to reach their long-term housing goal.

Each pathway represented has its own set of guidelines or criteria for entry and require an OKSA Housing Assessment to be completed to determine eligibility. Multiple pathways on the continuum may need to be taken for a young person to reach their long-term housing goal.
DDS Supported Housing>
Available to young adults who are receiving Division of Disability Services and are eligible to live in a Daily Living Supports (DLS) home.
Campus Housing & Dorm Room>
Available to young adults enrolling in colleges offering campus housing options or dorm rooms.
Former Foster Home>
Those young adults who report they have left custody and remain in their former foster home placement.
Friend/Family>
Those young adults who report they have left custody and are living with a friend or family member. This can include biological or adoptive families.
Housing Voucher>
Available to young adults meeting Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program eligibility requirements and displaying they have the life skills necessary to maintain housing with minimal supports. Housing vouchers offer supported housing at properties accepting Housing Choice Vouchers (HCV).
Job Corps>
Available to young adults meeting Job Corps eligibility requirements and interested in completing their high school education and a job training program at one of the three resident State Job Corps Centers.
OKSA Rapid Housing>
Available to young adults meeting OKSA Rapid Housing eligibility requirements, who are maintaining employment, and likely to maintain housing with minimal supports. OKSA Rapid Housing is a 6-month supported housing program structured to increase the percentage of rent the young adult is responsible for paying each month, culminating in responsibility for the entire rent amount by the sixth month. The young adult is responsible for locating & qualifying for housing within the rental allowances.
OKSA Room & Board>
Available to young adults meeting OKSA Room and Board eligibility requirements, and who report having a supportive adult willing to provide short-term housing while the young adult works toward meeting their long-term housing goal. OKSA Room and Board agreements allow the young adult to make financial contributions to their monthly living expenses.
Own Place>
Those young adults who report they have left custody and are maintaining their own housing with their own income. Young adults maintaining their own housing are eligible for OKSA Rent and Utility assistance at the time of move in or during emergency situations.
Transitional Living Program (TLP)>
Available to young adults needing more time to develop the life skills necessary to maintain housing on their own. Transitional Living Programs (TLP) offer supported housing through various types of living arrangements, program models, goals and supports. Each program should be explored individually.
